The Doctor's Symbol
A carved wood wall art of the caduceus, a symbol of medicine. The stick at the centre represents the staff of the Hermes, the messenger of the Greek gods. Hermes was also the patron of travellers, which connects him to the world of medicine as doctors, in olden days, had to travel great distances by foot in order to visit their patients. Like Hermes, doctors are messengers and diffusers of knowledge.
